Blender Animation Book

I've written a book about Rigging and Animation in Blender for Packt Publishing. You can get the files here.

Old Blog

Yes, I had a blog. Haven't updated it since 2011. Anyway, if you need something from there I have kept backwards compatibility and you can read it below.

Almost six months since my last post here, but I'm back with good news: my book, Blender 2.5 Character Animation Cookbook is finally available for sale! :D

It features 50 tutorials (or "recipes") about creating a full character rig in Blender and animating it in a fluid and convincing way. It covers from the basic rig and animation principles until more advanced subjects like the NLA Editor to mix animated sequences, using the AniSculpt technique to make refinements and tips for animated acting and lip sync.

There is one subject deliberately out of this book: creating scripted user interfaces using the Python API, since there wasn't enough space to fully cover it.

Along the book you'll have more than 100 source files, including the before and after each tutorial so you can compare your results. The book is available at Amazon and at Packt Publishing's website, where you can even download a free sample chapter.

And how you can get a free copy? To celebrate this release, we'll give free copies for 2 users picked randomly who Tweet the following until next Sunday Wednesday (July, the 3rd 6th, 11:59 PM GMT):

I want a free copy of Blender 2.5 Character Animation Cookbook http://bit.ly/b3dAnimBook #b3d

The lucky ones will be picked randomly via http://www.random.org, and the results will be announced next Monday Thursday on my Twitter account. Good luck! :D

(EDIT: The publisher asked me to extend the deadline so more people can participate)

(EDIT 2: The winners are @nelsonio23 and digoferrazz! Congratulations!)

Abs.
